Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia, commonly known as Akshay Kumar, was born on September 9, 1967 into a Punjabi family. He was recognized as a performer, especially a dancer, from an early age. Although he was born in Amritsar, Punjab, he grew up in the neighbourhood of Chandni Chowk in Delhi. He and his family then moved to Mumbai, another Punjabi-dominated area. He completed his studies at Don Bosco School in Mumbai and then attended Guru Nanak Khalsa College in Mumbai. Akshay Kumar also has a younger sister named Alka Bhatia.
He received a black belt in Taekwondo from India, studied martial arts in Bangkok, and mastered Muay Thai while working as a chef and waiter. After returning to India, he started teaching martial arts. Akshay Kumar started a modeling career on the recommendation of one of his students and found that he was actually earning more compared to his entire monthly salary. Therefore, he pursued his modeling career very seriously. But one time he missed the flight to Bangalore and then Bangalore and he was very disappointed in himself. So he visited a film studio with his portfolio, and luckily, he signed on to lead the film “Dida.”
