Major festivals in Arunachal Pradesh:
1. Tawang Festival:
The Tawang Festival is held every October. It focuses on the themes of Arunachal Pradesh tribal culture. The festival includes colourful dances, traditional food, indigenous games and sports and cultural fairs. They celebrate the culture and heritage of the people of this state.
2. Si-Donyi of Tagine:
Si-Donyi is a festival of the tribe called Tagins. Celebrations are held annually on January 6th. It is celebrated to promote the health, wealth and prosperity of the tribal people. This festival involves various rituals to appease various elements such as Si (earth) and Donyi (sun). 3. Reh by Idu Mishmi:

5. Lothar of Serduk Pummpa:
Losar is a festival of a tribe called Monpa, which they found in Sherdukpen. This is an annual festival of Buddhist tribes covering Mahayana sects such as Sherdukpens, Monpa, Khaamba Memba and Nah. Lothar is celebrated every year on February 11, which is their New Year. It is celebrated to promote the health, wealth, harvest and prosperity of the tribal people. Pray at a Buddhist temple called Gompa. 6. Tamladu by Taraon & Kaman Mishmi:
Tamladu is a festival of the tribe called Taraon and Kaman Mishmi. The festival is celebrated annually on February 15 by tribes in the Dipont and Lower Dipont Valley regions. It is celebrated to promote the health, wealth, security and prosperity of the tribal people.

7. Khan or Chindang of Miji:
Chindang is a festival of the tribe living in West Kameng called Miji (Sajolang). This is the tribe’s annual agricultural festival. The Qing and Tang Festivals are held every autumn for ten days. It is celebrated to promote the health, wealth, harvest and prosperity of the tribal people. The festival involves various rituals performed to appease various deities. There are offerings made to the gods with poultry and other birds. The festival ends with folk dancing and a large community feast.
Last year, the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, held the 2nd International Tourism Bazaar for Eastern and Northeastern Countries in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. The event was held from October 18th to October 20th, 2013.
