Gurgaon is located in the state of Haryana, known today as the National Capital Region. It is slowly becoming the main hub for all business centers in India. It is the city with the third highest per capita income in the country. The city itself is small and doesn’t have many tourist destinations. It is mainly a sports office building.
The entire area is considered an industrial or IT sector. However, the area still has its share of parks. Some very famous national parks are located in and very close to Gurgaon.

Sultanpur National Park:
This park was previously known as Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary. Later it became a national park. All bird lovers in Gurgaon must visit this park! It is home to many rare and beautiful birds. It also has other forms of wildlife living in its green surroundings.
The park is well maintained and beautiful. Some of the birds found here include – Common Hoopoe, Paddyfield Pipit, Purple Sunbird, Little Cormorant, Indian Cormorant, Common Spoonbill, Grey Franklin, Black Franklin, Indian Rolla, White Throated Kingfisher, Spotted Beak bird, painted stork, black-necked stork, white ibis, black-headed ibis, little egret, etc.
Arrival at Biodiversity Park:
The park is located in the Aravali Mountains and covers an area of 692 square kilometers. This land used to be rich in flora and fauna. But it was used for mining, destroying its natural beauty. Now that all its utility has been squeezed out, the Delhi Development Authority and Delhi University have reinstated it on their own. Maintenance and recovery are quick and efficient, but more time is still needed to repair damage from mining.

Tau Devi Lal Biodiversity Park:
The original intention of the park was to provide residents of Gurgaon with a beautiful place to take their children at night. Entering its realm, the effort put into is evident in the fine sculptures and the entrance. However, poor maintenance greatly reduces the magnificence of the park! This park is located in Sector 52, Gurgaon.

Leisure Valley Park:
It’s a simple but well-kept park in the city that offers a break from the hustle and bustle of the corporate world that the city seems to be drowning in. The park is well maintained and perfect for a short walk in the morning or evening. It even has restaurants within its boundaries where you can enjoy your meal while admiring the beautiful surrounding scenery.
Okhla Bird Sanctuary:
This is another great bird sanctuary close to Delhi. Although not exactly inside Gurgaon, this bird park is very close to it. It covers an area of about 3.5 square kilometers. The park features a large lake that provides a beautiful backdrop for the variety of birds found here. The lake is located on the banks of the river and was actually created by damming. This park is a frequent haunt for all bird lovers visiting the area.
Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary:
The park is located in the Tugrakabad area of the NCR (National Capital Region). This area may be the last forest that ever inhabited the entire area of our capital, Derry. The sparse semi-arid forests of this reserve stretch all the way to the start of the Aravali Mountains in Rajasthan. Earlier, this ridge used to be a dense forest that spreads throughout the city. But deforestation due to development has greatly reduced its coverage.
